Norwegian Air is adding another U.S. route, revealing plans for non-stop service between Denver and Paris.

Starting April 9, the fast-growing European discount carrier will fly two flights a week on Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The flights – which will operate on Mondays and Fridays – will connect Denver to Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport. Norwegian is launching the route with economy class fares starting at $229 one way.

According to usatoday Paris will become Norwegian's second European route from Denver. The airline has already announced plans to fly from Denver to its hub at London Gatwick. That service will launch Sept. 16 with two flights a week. A third weekly flight will be added on Nov. 2 and will continue through “the popular winter season,” when Denver becomes a hub for skiers headed to Colorado’s slopes.

The carrier also is currently in the midst of a major expansion in the U.S. Northeast, where it’s opening two pilot bases for its new Boeing 737 Max aircraft. The airline will use those to fly from three smaller airports – Providence; Hartford, Conn.; and Newburgh, N.Y. – to a mix of about a half-dozen destinations in Europe. The 737 flights, which have gone on sale for as little as $65 one way, complements Norwegian’s Dreamliner service that it operates from larger U.S. airports.

With the Denver service announced Thursday, Norwegian will offer 57 different trans-Atlantic flights from 15 U.S. airports to 13 destinations across France, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Norwegian’s tally of U.S. routes grows to 63 when its service to the French Caribbean islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe is counted. The carrier flies to the islands from New York JFK, Providence and Fort Lauderdale.
