Interswitch in collaboration with
Quickteller and Verve has unveiled a new media campaign to showcase new
technology capability that guarantees customers safer, faster and smarter
transactions through any payment channel.
Speaking at the event, the Marketing
Manager Interswitch, Olawale Akanbi, said as the market leader in Nigeria with
an expanding footprint across Africa, Interswitch is set to connect all the
banks in Nigeria and the biggest economy in Africa having built the country’s
payment processing and transaction switching infrastructure.
He maintained that with their
competence in pr
oviding secure and available information technology and
infrastructure solutions and services, Interswitch is set to help customers
reduce costs, increase revenues, tighten security, expand products offerings
and improve service levels on technology.
“Our direct connection with leading banks and other international payment
platforms, enable customers of financial institutions on the switch have
secure, continuous access to all the ATMs on the Interswitch network irrespective
of the ownership and location.”
“We raised our Paypoint agents through standard process, which involves
proper documentation and adequate training that makes it possible for our
agents to be able to render financial services like bill payments, funds
transfer, airtime recharge, cash deposit and withdrawal among others to
customers in the neighbourhood,” he added.
Similarly, Verve assured that it is always there to solve endless payment
problems, given that it is the biggest and the only indigenous card brand in
Nigeria that is keeping up with payment challenges and is rapidly expanding
issuance and acceptance across the African continent.
“In Nigeria, which is the Africa’s biggest economy, Verve cards are now used
by 45 per cent of Nigeria’s 30 million cardholders, and 16 million people
currently use our prepaid tokens or mobile apps. We encourage more people out
there to insist on verve cards in order to enjoy boundless services,” the
company said.
The Group Marketing and Cooperate Communications Manager, Quickteller,
Adetayo Teluwo, said the current day Nigeria brings certain challenges like
recession, traffic, family, work and the difficulty to manage all at once to
mind, which Quickteller recognises and tries to fix, believing that financial
transactions shouldn’t be one of them.

Nigeria, over 100,000 POS and over 17,000 ATMs.” He added that with the

Adetayo said Quickteller was the first to conquer the barrier of making
cardless withdraws, stating that with its platform, one can easily generate
USSD codes with a smart phone straight to the ATM and make withdrawals. Also,
by pressing *322# code on a smartless mobile phone; one can also make cardless
withdrawals.
