American Airlines will offer seasonal service from Dallas Fort Worth Airport to Reykjavik’s Keflavík International Airport, as Iceland continues to gain popularity as a tourist destination.

Reykjavik is Iceland’s capital city and has become a very popular leisure destination for summer travel.
American spokeswoman Lakesha Brown said in a statement, “We’re always looking at ways to take customers where they want to go, and when there’s an opportunity to add a new destination to the world’s largest network, we take it.”

American will offer flights to Iceland on its 176-seat Boeing 757-200 jets, which are equipped with fully reclining business-class seats. Guests can make reservations beginning Monday, Nov. 20.
According to the Icelandic Tourist Board, the country known for its gorgeous scenery, glaciers and relatively affordable travel prices saw a 40% increase in international visitors between 2015 and 2016 alone.

Dallas Fort Worth is the world’s fourth-busiest airport, according to its website, with 64 million passengers passing through each year.
