Boko Haram attack Madagali village in Adamawa

Supected members of the Boko Haram sect yesterday night attacked Bakin Dutse village as they advanced to Gulak administrative headquarters of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The attack, which was ongoing at the time of this report, was confirmed by government officials and security sources.The army could not be reached for comment.

When The Guardian contacted Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, via a text message in Abuja, he said: “Kindly call Colonel Kayode Ogunsanya, Deputy Director Army Public Relations 3 Division.”Ogunsanya however could not be reached as his phone was switched off as at the time of filing this report.

Fleeing residents said the attack commenced at about 7:35 p.m., as the insurgents stormed the village and opened fire on residents.The casualty from the attack cannot be ascertained yet.

Chinese man arrested over US cyber attacks

US authorities claim in court papers that Yu Pingan bought and sold malicious software including the rarely used Sakula program. That malware has been implicated in the 2014 hack attack on the US federal Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Information on a huge number of US workers employed in sensitive or secret work was stolen in that data breach. Thomas Cook relaunch flights to Tunisia - two years after beach terror attack

Flight and holiday packages to the north African destination were then suspended due to the incidence, with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advising only essential travel to the region. However, Thomas Cook is one of the first providers to reintroduce flights to Tunisia, two years after the attack took place. It is hoped that British tourists will once again travel to the once popular destination. Thomas Cook is to restart the flights on February 13 and have gone on sale today. "China is no longer in a position of technological inferiority relative to the United States but rather has become a true peer that may have the capability to overtake the United States in AI," said the report, from the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), a research arm of the US intelligence community.
